- Don't assume everyone know who you're talking about - although you and a few others may know that there may have been a next door neighbor named Bob or a cousin named Jill, if you're going to mention them in a post, try to always mention who the person is. Where possible, try to use a last name at least once so it's clear which John you're referring to (even if it's family).
- End your posts or replies with your full name - when it's time to publish everything we want to make it as plain and clear as possible who is speaking. It could be difficult to try to go back and determine who is speaking when all we have is the login ID of the person replying to a post. (e.g. num1skier or jkw2002).
- Make use of labels - when writing a new post, make sure you add labels describing the experience or event. Adding a Christmas, Summer Vacation, Happy or other label will provide a fun way to look through what's been posted.
- Bring on the pictures - you know what they say.... a picture is worth a thousand words. Seeing an old picture of family, where they lived, what they looked like when they were younger, etc. can bring back a flood of memories, especially if it's a picture someone else took that you've never seen. Now is a great time to pull out your old photos and upload them to the blog along with your post.
- Keep it positive - remember we're trying to capture all those neat experiences we all had with them, all the silly things we remember that scream "that is so Mom" or "that describes Grandpa to a T". We're trying to capture all those things we want our kids' kids to hear so they can come to know them as well.
OK. That's enough babbling. Let's get posting!
